You can choose whether to take the online course on its own, or include an optional work-based project (undertaken on completion of the online course).
The core online course will provide 10 credits at HE level 1. The optional work-based project will provide a further 20 credits and successful completion of this combined with the 10 credits of the online course will lead to the award of a Certificate of Professional Practice.
A limited number of bursaries for low-income applications are available. These are aimed at people who would otherwise be genuinely unable to pay their fees. More information about the bursary scheme (PDF format, 46Kb).
To join the course, you must have good written English and a suitable computer. You must confirm you meet these requirements in order to be accepted on the course.
Is English your first language?
If the answer is "no" it is important to understand that your knowledge of English will affect how well you can engage with this course. You will need to be able to read, write and spell to a competent level. If you are unsure about the level of your English language skills for effective online study, you should visit the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) web pages or contact them by telephone or post. They can advise you about ways of assessing your English language skills:
