Vacancy background:

v i s y o n promotes and improves the mental health and emotional well-being of children and young people aged up to 25 through the provision of counselling and complementary services.

v i s y o n is based in Congleton, Cheshire and delivers services to children and young people in North Staffordshire, Cheshire East and Cheshire West and Chester.

We currently have a range of skills on our board of trustees but have identified two areas in which we could improve our knowledge base. We would like to recruit a trustee with knowledge/background in law, and also a trustee with knowledge/background in the medical health (preferably a GP).

Primary duties:

Attendance at trustee meetings on a 6-weekly basis. Attendance at additional meetings when required (and available). All trustees are supported by, and ultimately answerable to, the Chair of the trustees.

Additional information:

A background in either law / medical health. Reliability. Trustworthiness. An ability to communicate.

An understanding of the voluntary sector/ mental health would also be desirable, though not essential.
