Trustee vacancy: Treasurer
Lambeth Mind is an independent local charity affiliated to the national mental health charity, Mind. The charity provides information, advice and support for people experiencing any kind of mental distress.
Lambeth Mind is seeking to recruit a Treasurer to join the Board of Trustees. This is a great opportunity to make a real difference in a small organisation, and we welcome applications from anyone who is passionate about helping people experiencing mental distress and has relevant financial qualifications or experience. Lambeth Mind is one of the few local Mind associations that has developed as a user-run organisation, and we encourage applications from people who have personal experience of mental distress or mental health services, although this is by no means a requirement.

· Ensuring that the financial accounts are properly audited (or independently examined) in accordance with Charity Commission requirements, liaising with the external auditor/independent examiner once a year to prepare annual accounts, and working with the Chair to prepare and submit accounts and report to the Charities Commission
· Monitoring the Charity’s financial operations to ensure consistency with its strategies, policies, aims, objectives and legal responsibilities

· Overseeing the development of the Board’s financial skills and expertise
