About the course

This full day covers contract law and contract clauses in close detail. Delivered by TPP Law and NCVO, this brings together frontline legal expertise and NCVO's own knowledge of national and local procurement trends and practice.

'The interactions, examples and content were at the right level. They clearly know their stuff!' - March 2012 delegate

Designed for voluntary organisations, commissioners and procurement staff, this day covers:

  • NCVO policy and procurement overview: what the future holds.
  • Procurement law and principles.
  • Contract risks and clauses, including
    • Variations and change
    • Dispute resolution
    • TUPE
    • Intellectual Property.
  • Case law and current examples.
  • Negotiation and challenge.
  • How to access the right legal support.
  • Legal glossary.

Who should attend?

"The strength of the day was the diversity of experiences in the room and clear explanations by both facilitators" - March 2012 delegate

Highly discursive, and rich in current case law, this is suitable for interested organisations of all sizes who are facing an increasingly competitive and complex contracting environment.

Suitable for delegates who are new to contracting, or seeking legal clarity on the correct process.
