What is the Compact?
The Compact is an agreement between the Government and the voluntary and community sector. It recently celebrated its ten year anniversary.
It describes how the two sectors should work together for the benefit of wider society.
Compact Champions
Six regional workshops are taking place during June and July which will explore the important role of Compact Champions and promote the findings from research which capture good practice
These workshops are aimed at people who want to develop the role of their Champions to improve the performance of their Local Compact.

Compact Advocacy Programme
We are delighted to announce that the Big Lottery Fund has chosen to fund our 3-year ‘Empowering the Voluntary Sector’ project. This is a collaboration between NCVO’s Compact Advocacy Programme and NAVCA and the Public Law Project.
Case study: Orthodox Jewish Group and the Big Lottery Fun SAIL is an Orthodox Jewish group that provides summer programmes for inner city boys from socially deprived areas.
Case study: BME sexual health organisation and local PCT - This award-winning BME organisation working on HIV and sexual health issues had received funding from the same London PCT for 10 years in a row.
