Good Governance

The Code has been formulated to help and support board members in the important and rewarding work that they carry out. The principles set out good practice but these are closely linked with the responsibilities of charity trustees and other legal requirements that may be imposed on board members.

It will also be of interest to staff or advisers supporting governance in an organisation.

The Code sets out best practice in trusteeship and while it is not mandatory, organisations that comply with it are invited to state this in their Annual Report.
