NCVO launches consultation on the future of the Compact
The future of the Compact is currently under discussion.
NCVO intends to respond to the Commission for the Compact on behalf of our members. To do so we need to hear your views on the Compact, how it currently operates and how it can be improved.

On July 9, DCLG published the empowerment white paper - 'Communities in Control'.
The white paper has a focus on engaging with citizens and communities, with many proposals that will impact on the voluntary and community sector.

As part of our ongoing work with the Local Government Association the LGA and NCVO have published a collection of essays: Votes and Voices; the complementary nature of representative and participative democracy. The publication brings together a wide range of views and perspectives on local democracy.
