Charity Forecast survey
Since 2008, the Charity Forecast survey and its resulting report has given a quarterly snapshot of charity leaders’ views.
If you are a Chief Executive, Director, Trustee or Senior Manager of an NCVO member charity, Charity Forecast is a great chance to make your views known to NCVO, the media and policy makers, and only takes five minutes.
The survey explores your organisation’s recent experience, current situation, and future plans and expectations in areas such as income and expenditure, staffing, service development, collaboration and competition, and the wider economy. You can also add futher comments.
The report on each survey gets national media coverage, listed at www.delicious.com/ncvoalmanac/forecast. It also goes to all respondents, and is available online to all NCVO members, reaching tens of thousands of charity staff and volunteers.
Responses are made anonymous in the report, but if your comments really interest the media we may ask if you want to speak to them. This can give you significant publicity.

The findings are in for the first quarter of 2012
This is the 17th edition of NCVO Foresight's quarterly survey of NCVO member charity sector leaders. It is based on a snapshot survey which ran from 7 February to 7 March 2011.
This quarter's report (published March 2012) shows that:
• 32% of respondents plan to increase the extent of services they offer over the next three months. This suggests that charities are continuing to service high levels of recession-driven demand, despite lacking resources.
• 28% of respondents have plans to decrease paid staff numbers over the next three months.
• 74% of respondents expect to collaborate more with other organisations over the next 12 months – the highest point since February 2009. 64% expect to compete more.
