Funding Central celebrates three years of helping voluntary organisations find new income opportunities

Our free website Funding Central, which offers voluntary organisations access to thousands of grants, contracts and loans, together with support and advice on developing sustainable income strategies, is celebrating its third birthday today.
Since its creation in 2009, Funding Central has helped a wide range of civil society organisations to find funding and finance opportunities and diversify their income streams. We now has over 47,000 users across England registered on the site. Last year users who successfully bid for funding secured an average of £35,068 per organisation.
The site also includes a 'Partner Zone', where organisations can search for consortia and collaborative working opportunities, and a 'Funder Zone' for grant funders, public sector commissioners and loan providers.
Sir Stuart Etherington, Chief Executive of NCVO, said:
'I am delighted to see Funding Central celebrating such a significant milestone. In its three years the service has added real value and connected a diverse range of organisations with valuable funding and finance opportunities. In this challenging economic climate, it is more important than ever that voluntary organisations have the tools and means to grow and diversify their income.'
