Compact Refresh to be launched

The long awaited 'refresh' of the Compact is almost ready and anyone interested can pre-order a copy now.
The Compact, which is the agreement for the working relationship between voluntary sector organisations and the Government, underwent a refresh after former Minister for the Third Sector Kevin Brenan MP and and Simon Blake, Chair of Compact Voice wrote to Sir Bert Massie, Commissioner for the Compact, asking for the decade old document to be updated.
The three partners (Compact Voice, Commission for the Compact and OTS) worked on the ‘refresh’ and a formal three-month consultation on the document was conducted from 20 July to 12 October 2009. Compact Voice received over 80 responses, each of which was carefully considered and a response was released by Compact Voice. So as to ensure that the best possible Compact is delivered the partners decided to delay the launch by six weeks.
