Our policy analysis of the Giving White Paper

NCVO has written a detailed policy analysis (PDF 40 KB) on the Government's Giving White Paper (PDF 2.32 MB), which was published on 23 May 2011.

Our report explores the specific proposals and investments in the paper, such as the Local Infrastructure Fund, Social Action Fund and Community First programme, and how these could increase giving and participation.

We also make a series of recommendations to government for taking the work forward and call on NCVO members to feedback on how the proposals will affect them.

The Giving White Paper will also be discussed at the next meeting of the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Civil Society and Volunteering, which is taking place on Wednesday 8 June 2011. Speakers include Beth Breeze from the Centre for Charitable Giving and Philanthropy, Tom Hughes Hallett, CEO of Marie Curie and NCVO's Karl Wilding, who is Head of Policy, Research and Foresight.
