Recruitment networks
Submitted by Victoria Roderick on Mon, 31/01/2011 - 12:15
Good Morning all,
I am a HR Assistant within the voluntary sector and my organisation is looking to recruit a Clerk to the Council who has an understanding of the laws and procedures affecting governance. The main duties for this post will be to coordinate the annual Council programme and to provide support and advice to Council members, Committees and Branches.
I am a bit stuck on where to advertise for this position and also have a very limited budget and so I would be grateful for some advice. Are there any networks that would be interested in recruitment for this type of position?
Any advice gratefully recieved!
Many Thanks
Vicky Roderick

Hello Vicky, thanks very much for your post.
I guess it really depends how much budget you have. If you're looking to advertise on a shoe-string (say, less than £50 for an advert), you could try your local council for voluntary service? Many CVSs circulate jobs in their e-bulletins and on their website.
I notice you're based in Wales, so you might also want to give WCVA a try. They have a jobs page.
In terms of jobs websites, there are a few which focus on the voluntary sector. CharityJob is a preferred supplier of NCVO. Other sites include Guardian Jobs and Third Sector Jobs.
I wonder also whether an organisation such as Trusteenet may be able to assist you further?
Hi Emma,
That's really helpful - thank you!
