Changes to the tendering process for legal aid work mean many solicitors are concerned about access to justice. A recent survey by the family lawyers' association Resolution has found that many of their members are expecting to make redundancies. The Legal Services Commission have reduced the number of organisations providing legal aid, and the lawyers expect the changes to have a negative impact on vulnerable groups, such as domestic violence and forced marriage victims. You can read more about the report on the Resolution website (www.resolution.org.uk) and in this Guardian article (17 August 2010).
