With Government spending plans for 2015-16 due to be announced next month, NCVO has been looking at what the sector can expect.

Our latest Counting the Cuts report shows that further cuts are on the cards. Where these cuts will fall is the main topic of political debate. Will councils be expected to make further sizeable cuts? Will welfare budgets or un-ringfenced departments be squeezed further?

Headlines from the IFS Green Budget 2013

Each year, the Institute for Fiscal Studies produces its highly-regarded ‘green budget’ analysis shortly ahead of the Budget. This morning, I was at the launch of its 2013 Green Budget at UCL’s Senate House. And by the looks of the attendance list, half the Treasury were as well.

11th December 2012

The issue of rising costs is of real concern to the voluntary sector. In a climate of reduced funding, every penny is harder to earn and therefore more important to retain.

5th December 2012

NCVO has issued our response to the Autumn Statement today, saying that it was a sobering assessment of the nation’s finances that offers little comfort for vulnerable people and the charities that support them.

Taking a look in more detail at key points for the sector:
