So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, goodbye
It's a sad day in NCVO towers. It's the last day at work for lots of us as we're affected - along with 100s of our members - by the cuts in public sector spending. I've been at NCVO for over five years and in that time I've been working with organisations to help them to use technology to be more effective and efficient.
It's amazing to think about how technology has changed in that time, when we started it was all about PCs and databases and now it's about the power of social media. I wonder what the next five years will hold for technology?
I still believe passionately that technology can help people and organisations to do more and I hope to be able to keep helping in my own small way.
If you have questions about technology then the NCVO ICT resources are still available at www.ncvo-vol.org.uk/advice-support/ict/managing-ict and there's always the excellent Knowledgebase at www.ictknowledgebase.org.uk.
If you want to stay in contact with me then I'm always on Twitter @LouiseBrown and I'll keep on blogging over at www.louisebrown.org.uk.
Good luck!

Will miss your fantastic representation of technologicial means on these pages. The knowedge bases are a fantastic, nay essential read for anyone working within the voluntary sector, and dare I say for those of us that are keen to expand our awareness. Will continue to follow your brain and knitting know-how on Twitter.
All the best,
Lou.... the other one.
Louise, you are so right it is a very sad day.
As you rightly say, we are going through what a lot of our members are going through but that doesn't make it any easier when you see people you have worked with and admired moving away from the organisation.
I'll hopefully get a chance to say this in person but you've been brilliant to work with and your knowledge of ICT (not to mention knitting and Liverpool FC) are irreplaceable.
All the best with whatever you turn you skills to next.
