Challenging funding decisions
At a time when every local authority and public body is looking at ways to save money, it is more important than ever to make sure that any cut to funding is fair and legal.
In this session you will learn the essentials of Public Law and the Compact so that you can make sure that decisions made by local and national government that affect your organisation happen in the correct way. We will look at recent judicial review decisions, Compact commitments, and The Equality Act; all of which can be used to challenge public bodies.
You will learn about crucial timelines, techniques and tactics, and look at real case studies where unfair decisions have been overturned.

Strategy and change: two sides of the same coin?
Having a clear strategy is a key task for a board of trustees but strategy in our sector is frequently misunderstood with strategic ideas often crudely imported from the private sector. What does a meaningful charity strategy look like? And how can it help your organisation manage change?
This interactive session will give you an insight into NCVO’s cutting edge thinking about strategy and will explore the relationship between strategy and change.
