Q. We're not a charity, can we still join?
A. NCVO welcomes all voluntary and community organisations to membership. You do not need to be a registered charity. As long as your organisation's aims are other than for financial gain and you are a self governing body who have joined together voluntarily to take action for the benefit of the community, you should be eligible.
Types of organisations NCVO has as voluntary sectors members are charities, community interest companies, social enterprises, Housing Associations and community groups. Read the full list of criteria.
Q. How much does membership cost?
A. We have a range of membership packages that are set on a sliding scale according to your organisation's gross annual income. Please look at our membership fees.
A. Joining is easy. Simply apply Online or by post or call our membership team on 020 7520 2414 for a membership pack.
Q. How can my organisation benefit?
A. Whether your organisation is a large national body, a community group or a development agency working at a local level, NCVO support you by creating an environment in which voluntary and community organisations can flourish and develop.
We do this by providing a wide range of information and support services, as well as representing the sector when dealing with government and policy makers.
There are many reasons why organisations choose to join NCVO. A. NCVO membership is organisational, so all your colleagues can take advantage of the great benefits on offer.
Q. We're not a voluntary sector organisation, can we still join?
A. Whether you want to develop your corporate community affairs plan, form effective working partnerships with key voluntary organisations in your area or simply need to know about current sector trends, NCVO's affiliate schemes will keep you in the picture.
As an affiliate, you will enjoy access to the latest sector information and advice and will get first-hand feedback on current issues, including the development of local compact guidelines and codes of practice.
By joining NCVO, you will demonstrate a clear commitment to working effectively with the voluntary sector for the benefit of your community.

Q. We are not based in England, can we still join?
A. Yes. The International Membership package has been specifically developed to enable organisations based outside of England to keep up to date with the work of NCVO, access our advice and services and receive news and information about developments in the English voluntary sector. For more information about the International Membership package.

Q. We've recently joined but we're not sure of our membership number?
A. You should have received your membership certificate (excluding Community members), with your membership number, in your welcome pack. However, please do not hesitate to contact the membership team on 020 7520 3153 who will be happy to confirm your number for you.
Once you have the number you will be able to register and login to the 'Members Area' on our website and also claim the many discounts available to your organisation on our events and publications.
