Boards

The board is the governing body of a voluntary or community organisation.

In some organisations the board will be called the management committee, executive committee, board of governors or board of directors.

For all of these it is the governing of supervisory body of a voluntary or community organisation.

An effective board with a clear mission is essential for every voluntary and community organisation.  The Code of Good Governance is recognosed as best practice for governing a voluntary or community organisation.

There are 7 principles of good governance.

This section aims to explain why each principle of the Code of Good Governance is important and how your organisation can work with the code.
