The Governance Hub
The Governance Hub closed on 31 March 2008. So that you have easy access to the Hub's resources they have been transferred to the Governance and Leadership section of NCVO's website
What was the Governance Hub?
The Hub was led by a partnership of nine infrastructure organisations and was launched in June 2005. The Governance Hub was one of six Hubs of expertise, developed as part of the Home Office funded Change Up programme to build capacity and improve the infrastructure of the voluntary and community sector. The Hub was funded by Capacitybuilders. The Governance Hub researched the needs of the sector, developed and promoted standards and provided information and support. It also raised awareness of trusteeship with the public and of the needs for good governance, and where to find support, within the sector. The Hub worked in partnership with individuals and organisations across the country to develop appropriate resources and maximise reach.
What has happened to the Governance Hub?
The Governance Hub completed its programme of work by 31 March 2008. The Governance Hub was valued and has had a significant impact on the governance of many organisations. It leaves a legacy of useful resources and valuable research including the 'Code' (Good Governance: a Code for the Voluntary and Community sector) which will support the continued development of good governance in the sector.
Where are the resources?
The full range of information, publications, toolkits and supporting documentation created under the programme has been made available throughout the governance and leadership sections of the NCVO website alongside other advice and materials. An outline of Governance Hub materials can be found in a Guide to Governance Hub Resources.
