Sector expects more collaboration

Despite the growing demand placed on the voluntary sector during the recession, NCVO’s latest quarterly Charity Forecast Survey reveals that three quarters (74%) of voluntary organisations intend to increase collaboration with other voluntary organisations.

This new guidance introduces different ways of working with other organisations to raise funds.

Subjects covered include fundraising events, joint trading, payroll giving through consortia, appeals and legacy giving.

£42.5 million action plan

The Government’s action plan sets out a targeted package of support for voluntary organisations in the difficult economic climate.

Among the commitments is the launch of a £16.5m modernisation fund. The funding will help to purchase the specialist advice and guidance that organisations require to merge or collaborate. February 2009
