About the BfN

One Clear Vision was established in 2009 and is the leading international organisation representing people with Degenerative Vitreous Syndrome (DVS), the spontaneous occurrence in the aging vitreous of opacities that substantially interfere with activities of daily living. Our mission is to raise awareness and promote a better understanding of Degenerative Vitreous Syndrome through fundraising, providing information and support to sufferers and collaborating with eye specialists and researchers to help achieve clear sight for everyone affected.

Action Duchenne is inviting applicants for the Chair of its board of trustees. With the recent appointment of a National Director, the main role is to assume the responsibility of guiding the current board of 11 members in the governance, guidance and strategies for an extremely active research charity. This is a two year, voluntary post.

The Organisation:

First formed in 2001, Action Duchenne has funded 17 research programmes and has been instrumental in securing grants via collaborative work with academia and industry.

Nightlines provide a confidential listening, emotional support, information and supplies service, run by students for students at their university. They work to improve student mental health and wellbeing and are open at night when no other university welfare services are available. Nightline services now operate in over forty universities in the UK and beyond thanks to an incredible team of over 2,000 trained student volunteers.
