STEPS is a well-established small national charity for children, young people and their families who have experience of lower limb conditions that can affect mobility. We started in 1980 in the Northwest as a self-help group and are now based in the village of Lymm in North Cheshire. We are the only UK provider of support and information for people affected by clubfoot, hip dysplasia and other lower limb conditions. Sometimes it feels that children’s orthopaedic conditions are almost “orphan” conditions, as there is such a lack of awareness and investment in resources.
