Are you campaigning in a small organisation or with limited resources? Fed up with events targeted at large organisations with resources you can only dream about? Do you want to work with other small organisations who are facing similar issues on how you address your unique challenges?
We are inviting you to take part in a free open space event on Friday 4th March at NCVO. This event will give everyone a chance to set the agenda for the afternoon and discuss the issues that are most important to you.
This event has grown from a brainstorming discussion on the Forum for Change online network which sets out some of the key challenges Forum members have faced campaigning in a small organisation. Please feel free to join the discussion online before the event!
What can I expect?
This is an open space event, so all participants will have the opportunity to put forward themes for discussion in small groups on the day. The open space session will focus on the following question:
How can small organisations campaign more effectively?
These could include:
· Organisational issues, such as getting buy-in for your work and exploiting the agility of small organisations
· Being a lone campaigner and developing ideas for peer support
· Setting realistic goals based on the resources you have available and benchmarking to measure your impact
· Making the most of new online tools and technologies, without necessarily having in-house support or expertise
You will also have the opportunity to explore key questions with the wider group and share tips and learning with colleagues working in similar roles across the sector.
Who should attend?
This event is ideal for anyone campaigning in a small organisation or with limited resources. It will be particularly useful if you are a ‘lone campaigner’, or if campaigning makes up just part of your role.
