NCVO Barclays Leadership Programme 2013

Run by NCVO and sponsored by Barclays, this four day training course offers participants a chance to reflect on and improve their leadership skills with fellow voluntary sector leaders. The course involves participative learning and learning from peers.

The programme runs from March to July 2013 in 3 locations across England:  London, Nottingham and Manchester.

About the course

Become a more confident leader by learning with other voluntary sector leaders.

Who is the course for?

The course is designed for people in a leadership role of a voluntary organisation who want to learn with and from each other. Previous participants have included CEOs, deputy CEOS, chairs of trustees and heads of departments who are new to the role or those wanting to refresh their approach.

This course is designed for pragmatic and active learners who prefer to learn by doing.

  • Day 3: Leading through Change and for Innovation
  • Day 4: Influencing others and Making the most of the Programme

What can I expect?

The programme is practically focused, participative and interactive. The course is led and facilitated by Katherine William-Powlett. Members of LinkedIn will be able to view Katherine’s full profile and recommendations.

All learners are expected to commit to attending all four full days as well as some preparatory work. Delegates are expected to be; open to the learning; committed to the programme; supportive of each other; reflective about own leadership; and practical.

  • London: 19 March, 23 April, 21 May, 25 June
  • Nottingham: 21 March, 25 April, 23 May, 27 June
  • Manchester: 27 March, 1 May, 5 June, 3 July

Course fees

NCVO members receive a 30% discount.

The actual cost of the programme is £1,060 but thanks to the generous support of Barclays, we have been able to subsidise the programme for many of the participants.

Organisations with an income of below £1million:

  • NCVO members: £262.50
  • Non-members: £375

Organisations with an income of £1m or more:

  • NCVO members £800
  • Non-members £1,060

This training course is VAT exempt. If your organisation is not an NCVO member, you may wish to join us and enjoy the discount on this course fee plus access to ongoing support and benefits from NCVO. Membership fees are set on a sliding scale – the smaller your organisation the less you pay.

Please note: application does not guarantee a place on the course. Applications will be assessed for suitability. You will be notified by 28 February.

Cancellation and payment policy

50% of delegate fees will be refunded for cancellations received by three weeks before the event. After this no fees are refundable for cancellation or non-attendance. All cancellations and changes need to be sent in writing.

All fees paid through organisations must be paid by 15 March 2013.
