Urban Forum is a national voluntary organisation with over 400 members. It is dedicated to supporting community and voluntary groups to be effectively involved in regeneration and renewal. Urban Forum provides a two way communication channel between government and community and voluntary groups. Its main activities are:

· information, research and advice for community and voluntary groups
· events programme helping local groups to network and share good practice
· publications including website, policy briefings, newsletter and email service

Vision and mission statement:

To build and support effective community involvement in planning and delivering services and wider civil society in towns and cities in the UK.

To provide a respected and independent national community and voluntary sector voice on urban and regional policy making and implementation.

To establish high quality advice, information and communication systems that empower local communities to engage in successful and sustainable regeneration and renewal.

To support community and voluntary groups to build sustainable networks and infrastructure to maximise community involvement in regeneration and renewal.

To promote discussion, debate and action on urban and regional issues, particularly regeneration, neighbourhood renewal and social exclusion.

To provide a forum for all sectors to collaborate and consult on inclusive and sustainable community regeneration and neighbourhood renewal.

To promote equality of opportunity and equality of outcomes for excluded communities in regeneration and renewal initiatives.
