Description:

Black Neighbourhood was established in April 2001 and is the successor body to the Black Regeneration Forum (BRF). BNRRN is a national recognised organisation representing over 150 black and minority ethnic organisations, most of whom are active in the voluntary, community and private sectors. BNRRN is an umbrella organisation, which means that we operate at a strategic level and do not actually deliver services directly to communities themselves. Rather we support those organisations and providers who do have a role delivering services directly to communities.

Vision and mission statement:

BNRRN exists to: strengthen and support the participation of BME voluntary and community sectors in Neighbourhood Renewal and regeneration initiatives; build knowledge, social capital and community assets that enable Network members to help one another in the social regeneration of BME communities; provide an effective voice from BME community and voluntary groups on regeneration and renewal.

Type of Organisation:

National generic umbrella organisation or infrastructure organisation, providing services to a membership comprising other voluntary organisations.

Services:

Advice and support, Development of standards, Information, Member directories, Networking, Newsletters, Research, Training.
