Consultancy and Training

Governance and leadership

Good governance is essential to ensuring that your organisation is solvent, well-run and makes a positive impact for your users or cause.  Through training, facilitation and bespoke consultancy, NCVO Consultancy can provide tailored support on a range of governance-related issues to assist you to get your governance into shape.

Reviewing your governance

Does your organisation wish to review its governance arrangements?  Do you feel your governance is no longer fit for purpose?  Or will future plans require a change in governance arrangements?  Whatever your motivation, our Consultants can work with you to review all aspects of your governance and help you to implement improvements.

Building an effective board

Where your board lacks clarity around what it is there to do, or how it goes about it, we can help to ensure roles and responsibilities are clearly defined and understood, and new trustees are properly inducted.

If you're concerned that your board may not have the skills, experience and knowledge it needs, we can help you to identify and fill gaps by auditing your board, developing your existing trustees or assisting with recruitment.

Are you a new board, or a board in need of cohesion? We can work with you to foster good relations between trustees, and between your board and CEO, and assist you where relationships have broken down.

You may be rethinking the size of your board or reviewing the nature of members’ involvement in it. Whatever change you may be considering, we'll support you to ensure that your governance is as effective as it needs to be.

Providing leadership

Does your board or CEO need to develop the leadership they provide to the organisation?  We can provide training and support to make this happen!
