Quality improvement and the board

A quality assurance system is a systematic way of ensuring a charity operates to a high standard. A quality system can help give trustees confidence that the charity is effective and well governed.

Charities often use an off-the-shelf quality system. Popular quality systems include PQASSO (the Practical Quality Assurance System for Small Charities), VISIBLE (published by Community Matters for local community associations) and Investors in People.

Many guides exist to help trustees and charities develop their approach to quality assurance.
